Upcoming blood donation opportunities

When:
May 1, 2019 all-day
2019-05-01T00:00:00-05:00
2019-05-02T00:00:00-05:00

One car accident victim can use as many as 100 units of blood.

That’s why the American Red Cross needs regular donations to help ensure that blood products are available for patients when every second counts.

During Trauma Awareness Month this May, you can help ensure hospitals are prepared the moment an injured patient arrives by reminding the public that blood donations are needed year-round. Below is more information about upcoming blood donation opportunities in the community. Please let me know if you have any questions, would like to set up an interview or need additional information. Thanks in advance for your support!

How to donate blood

Simply download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
