Community Chamber Orchestra presents its 2018 Christmas Concert on Friday, Dec. 7, with five new member musicians. The concert will be held at 7:00 pm in the Main Lodge of Life’s Finer Moments, 1285 16th Rd., Clay Center, KS 67432.

This will be a family-friendly program of Christmas carols and pops songs, selections from “The Nutcracker,” and a Mozart “Sleigh Ride.”  Intermission will include complimentary chocolates provided by the Russell Stover Chocolates Retail Shop in Abilene, KS.  Original TATERandNOONEY jewelry will be on sale,  and makes lovely one-of-a-kind Christmas presents.

New 2018 musicians participating in this unusual chamber orchestra of youth and adults playing without a conductor are:

Cora Coffey is a Manhattan 5th grader in her 4th year of studying violin. Her family has lived in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, and she speaks and reads Russian. Her dad, who will be playing the slapstick in LeRoy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride” to simulate the crack of the whip, works in the KSU Department of Agricultural Economics. Cora is also a student of Washington Dance Studio.
