Alert Road Race
Alert Road Race
The 21stAnnual Alert Road Race will be held Saturday, June 15 at the Alert Covenant Church between Green and Randolph. The races include a 10K, a 5K, and a 1-mile that includes the Faster Pastor Mile. The 5K and 10K start at 7:30 a.m., with the mile starting at 9:00.
Pies for Pastors: The Faster Pastor Mile is open to clergy of all denominations. Parishoners are reminded to gently urge their leaders to be a part of this friendly competition. The prizes at stake are two pies for the first place pastor and one pie apiece for second and third place finishers. Pastors need not be gazelles—they simply need to show up and cover the distance, by walking, running, shuffling or lumbering across the finish line. The pies have been graciously donated by Nancy Kimbrough of Maury’s Restaurant.
