Abilene Christian Women’s Connection Coffee
The Abilene Christian Women invite all women to the monthly Coffee on Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Elks Club, 417 NW 4th St. (Please note the change of meeting time for the November event only.) The theme for November is “Autumn Treasures.” All ladies will have fun shopping for many outstanding, bargain priced items as well as delicious, home baked goods at the bazaar and auction. Anyone may donate new and gently used items or baked goods for the bazaar by dropping them off at the Elks Club by 9:00 a.m. on Nov. 1st. The Silent Auction will begin at 9:15 a.m.
As the Special Feature, Randy Reynolds will auction selected bazaar items to benefit Stonecroft Ministries. Stonecroft is a non-denominational, non-profit Christian organization. They conduct prayer groups, Bible studies and outreach events. The organization depends upon donations to serve and support the efforts of more than 40,000 volunteers. The proceeds from this event are used to create new outreaches, engage and train women in ministry in the United States and 65 foreign countries. Abilene Christian Women’s Groups formed in the 1970’s and have had a continuing presence in this community since that time.
Jan Smith from Olathe, KS is the Speaker for November. Jan is an Interior Designer. Everyone will enjoy hearing her humorous and hair-raising experiences as the wife of a funeral director included in her talk “If the Shoe Fits.” Jan’s witty humor is woven throughout her presentation on handling the challenges of life.
The Gathering Music will be played by pianist, Jackson Welsh, shown here. Jackson has been playing piano since kindergarten. He is a senior at Abilene High School where he performs in the band and jazz band. Jackson is also a singer and will present the Special Music for this November 1st Coffee as well. You can also listen to Jackson’s musical talent at the Abilene High School Musical “The Adams Family” coming up in November.
The cost for this event is $5 for adults and $2.00 for ages 10 and younger. To make reservations or cancellations for this meeting send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call Carolyn Hoover at (785) 263-4285 by Saturday, October 27th.
