Abilene Christian Women’s Club Coffee
The Abilene Christian Women’s Club Coffee is Thursday, April 6, 2017, from 9:30 – 11:15 a.m. at the Elks Club, 417 NW 4th St. The theme for April is “Can You Dig It?” All women are invited to this monthly event and are encouraged to attend. At the monthly coffee, we share friendly fellowship, tasty refreshments, delightful decorations, joyful music and inspiring speakers!
The Special Feature Speaker for the month of April is Christina Krause. She is the greenhouse and nursery manager for locally owned and family operated Proscape Inc. located at 2452 N. Buckeye Ave., in Abilene. As Christina grew up in Abilene, she experienced plants and the outdoors as part of her father’s landscaping business. Ms. Krause pursued her passion for plants by earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture. At the Coffee, Christina will share ideas for colorful container gardening, tips for pruning and introduce us to some new plants. Her presentation will give us all ideas for plant selection and design for home and garden as spring encourages us to enjoy the outdoors.
Donna Roth Hillis from Wichita is the Speaker for April. The title of her talk is “Shattered, But Not Broken.” Donna is a registered nurse who enjoys medical mission trips to the Dominican Republic. She will share how a personal tragedy was transformed into something extraordinary that changed her life.
The Gathering Music will be played by pianist, Peggy Meuli from Hope. Denise Blehm from Abilene will perform Special Music. Denise is a violinist with the Salina Symphony Orchestra and a violin instructor.
The cost for this event is $5. Make reservations or cancellations for this meeting and reserve free childcare by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or calling Carolyn Hoover at (785) 263-4285 by Saturday, April 1st.
